Ketchapuri Lake

Last day in the field before heading back to the UK, so a quick visit to  Ketchapuri Lake about 15 miles away from Yuksom. 2 Vivid Niltava, 3 Black-throated Sunbird, 1 Himalayan Blue Flycatcher, 1 Large Niltava, 2 Oriental Turtle Doves, 2 Fire-breasted Flowerpecker, 2 Chestnut-crowned Warbler, 2 Grey Treepie, 1 Eastern Black Redstart and a Stripe-breasted Woodpecker.

Yuksom Day Four

Another day on the forest trail out of Yuksom - 2 Great Barbet, 2 Oriental Turtle Dove, 6 Spot-winged Grosbeak, 1 White-capped Water Redstart, 2 Little Pied Flycatcher, 1 Black-winged Cuckoo-shrike, 2 Small Niltava, 1 Black-capped Monarch, 1 Himalayan Bulbul, 7 Verditer Flycatcher, 2 Mountain Tailorbird, 1 Pygmy Wren-babbler, 2 Black-throated Sunbird, 1 Golden Spectacled Warbler, 1 Slaty-blue Flycatcher, 2 Broad-billed Warblers, 2 Bar-winged Flycatcher-shrike, 4 Oriental White-eye, 6 Short-billed Minivet, 1 Asian Barred Owlet, 1 Large Niltava, 1 Blyth's Leaf Warbler, 1 Long-tailed Thrush, 1 Black Eagle and 4 Robin Accentor - not a bad day, after 13 hours in the field.

Yuksom Day Three

Another day around Yuksom - highlights were 1 Hill Blue Flycatcher, 2 Red-flanked Bluetail, 1 Large Niltava, 2 Small Niltava, 1 Golden-spectacled Warbler, 2 Blue-winged Minla, 10 Chestnut-tailed Minla, 2 Red-tailed Minla, 4 Olive-backed Pipit, 5 Oriental Turtle Dove, 6 Red-billed Leiotherix, 6 Verditer Flycatcher, 1 Siberian Stonechat, 1 Little Pied Flycatcher, 2 White-crowned Water Redstart, 2 Nepal Fulvetta and most stunning of all - a tricolor Long-tailed Shrike.

Yuksom Day Two

All day around the forests about Yuksom - 1 Grey-winged Blackbird, 2 Great Barbet, 1 White-tailed Robin, 2 Black-throated Sunbird, 3 Grey Treepie, 1 Oriental Turtle Dove, 1 Striated Bulbul, 9 Black Bulbul, 2 Small Niltava, 2 Mountain Tailorbird, 12 Verditer Flycatcher, 1 Grey-headed Woodpecker, 4 Short-billed Minivet, 1 Brown-throated Treecreeper, 1 Black Eagle, 1 Hill Prinia, 1 Maroon Oriole, 4 Little Pied Flycatcher, 4 Blue-winged Minla, 1 Scaly-breasted Wren Babbler, 2 White-capped Water Redstart and 4 Spot-winged Grosbeaks.

Yuksom Day One

Headed over to Yuksom, and what a place, just did around the village for the afternoon and got this lot - 2 Roufous-gorgeted Flycatcher, 3 Grey Treepie, 2 Verditer Flycatcher, 2 Oriental White-eye, 1 Small Niltava, 4 Red-billed Leiotherix, 1 Red-tailed Minla, 3 Chestnut-tailed Minla, 2 White-tailed Nuthatch, 20 Russet Sparrow, 1 Blue-fronted Redstart, 2 Common Green Magpie, 10 Grey-hooded Warbler, 7 Black Bulbul, 1 Little Pied Flycatcher, 1 Asian Barred Owlet, 1 Large Niltava, 1 Black Redstart, 4 Blue Whistling Thrush and a Bar-winged Flycatcher-shrike.

Rimbi

For a change of habitat I decided to spend the day along the river at Rimbi, no surprises in what I saw, just birds typical of the area - 5 Plumbeous Water Redstarts, 1 Verditer Flycatcher, 1 Brown Dipper, 2 Crested Serpent Eagle, 2 Long-tailed Minivets, 2 Grey Treepie, 1 Mountain Tailorbird, 20 Himalayan Bulbul and a dozen or so Spangled Drongo.

Pelling

Started off pretty early (well 6am anyway) and did the Helipad track again, and this time I really took my time, throughout the morning I had 6 Grey-hooded Warblers, 3 Verditer Flycatcher, 4 Oriental White-eyes, 2 Red-flanked Bluetails (inc a cracking full summer male), 2 Blue-throated Barbets, 2 Oriental Turtle Doves, 4 Little Pied Flycatcher, 4 Red-billed Leiotherix, 3 Brown-throated Treecreeper, 2 White-tailed Nuthatch, 6 Short-billed Minivets, 2 Small Niltava (both females), a Hill Prinia, 8 Fire-breasted Flowerpeckers, 2 Grey Treepies, a Grey-winged Blackbird, 2 Yellow-bellied Fantails, a Black-throated Sunbird and the same female Ultramarine Flycatcher as yesterday.
And I have just noticed that all the Sparrows in Pelling are Tree Sparrows.
