Confined to the house this morning as winds reached 81mph, but come the afternoon it was down to 15mph so I headed out to see if anything had changed on the patch. So 12 hours of southerly gales and the result? a single Robin around the stone walls and 2 Ravens visiting a neighbours bird table.
By putting a few pieces of stale bread on the lawn I was expecting the usual Starlings and House Sparrows, what turned up to dine instead was a 1st yr Glaucous Gull, 10 Herring Gulls, 2 Raven and 4 Hooded Crows !!
