Garden Year-list 2009 Review. (Part 2).

July - No new species were added in July, although a Peregrine on the 17th was unexpected.

August - No new birds until the 15th when a Green Sandpiper flew over, followed by Greenshank on the 19th, Grey Plover on the 22nd and Common Sandpiper and Black Tern on the 26th. The month will be best remembered for producing 4 different Icterine Warblers and 2 Barred Warbler in the last week. Total now on 117.

September - Only Marsh Harrier on the 13th and Yellow-browed Warbler on the 14th were new, bringing the total up to 119.

October - Four new species this month - a long overdue Song Thrush on the 8th, Long-eared Owl on the 10th, Bullfinch on the 26th and a Woodcock on the 29th. Total now 123.

November - Only White-fronted Goose added.

December - A cold spell at the year's end brought in a Pintail on the 19th and 2 Jack Snipe on the 20th, plus around 40 Snow Buntings seen on most days. The final total for the year was 126.
