September 17th 2008. Foula & Northern Lights.

Half hour spent around Toab in the morning before catching flight to Foula.
Nearly the full day spent wandering around Foula - for very little reward.

1 Tree Pipit, 1 Robin, 2 Pied Flycatcher, 4 Whinchat, 5 Willow Warbler, 1 Spotted Flycatcher, 1 Blackcap, 1 Lesser Whitethroat, 1 Whitethroat, 6 Chaffinch, 1 Kestrel and 4 Black-tailed Godwits around Toab.

4 Swallow, 1 Kestrel, 140+ Chaffinch, 9 Redstart, 15 Song Thrush, 4 Robin, 3 Blackcap, 9 Willow Warbler, 1 Common Rosefinch, 2 Redwing, 6 Whinchat, 1 Merlin, 34 Lapwing, 2 House Martin, 2 Pied Flycatcher, 5 Garden Warbler, 4 Reed Warbler, 2 Siskin, 2 Chiffchaff, 2 Tree Pipit, 1 Reed Bunting, 1 Lesser Whitethroat and a Water Rail on Foula.

1 Redstart, 2 Robin (including 1 hiding in the garage), 1 Whitethroat, 2 Blackcap and a Spotted Flycatcher in the Garden.

Northern Lights just about visible at about 10pm.
